Lmao another “ 9 fights to his credit” same as the last one they are actually embarrassed to announce they opponent has lost every single fight he’s had. He’s not gaining any experience fighting these bin men, his competition needs to be upped. He needs rounds under his belt not having his ego filled by knocking out part timers.
Big step up in opponent. Tommy's last opponent was 0-11. This one had only lost 9. His 5 opponents combined record is 12-174-5. That's right out of the deontay wilder book of fight picking. And the '3rd place' bomber has had a pretty decent career let's not forget.
This was not a good fight for Tommy to take. Boxing fans deserve more and will and are turning away from fighters who's career paths are cherry picking maps for success. If the fighter and his team believe in Tommy then they should let him prove himself for all to see. It would be a big positive for boxing.
He`s gonna end up a multi-millionaire like his big brother no matter what, you`ll have the same armchair muppets (that don`t no anything about fighting but think they do) buying into the hype & spending money on ppv, i`d rather watch BKB anyday!
Yooooo tommy is not fighting a dude that 0-9 they could have at least got a guy who was 4-4 or 5-3 but they picked a guy with no wins not credible at all
If Big John told me Frank Warren will be a Heavy weight world champion in 2023, I would believe him. Just enjoy the ride, let's see how far he goes. Plenty of other boxers to critique, if in 2 years he's still fighting against Journey men, then there's an issue. For now, go with the flow!
Tommy is only 20, he’s in the public eye and living under heavy judgement. This is the process for anyone getting into fighting. U gradually go up, ur competitors get harder. Everyone expecting him to go into dead even fight straight away are literally just trying to find fault because they probably already don’t like him.
Fury is a good fighter, but hes not better than AJ in every department at all, he throws tippy tap jabs as range finders and doesnt put power into them whereas AJ's jab is sharp and powerful, AJ throws alot better hooks, better uppercuts, He has alot more punch power than Fury, and he's boxed against multiple styles. Fury has alot better defensive skills but doesnt have the offensive skills that AJ possesses. it's a 50/50 fight anyone saying otherwise is either bias or doesnt watch boxing properly, I dont think Furys done anything in his career AJ couldnt do, and vise versa.
People need to stop giving Tommy so much stick, he’s still young & this was only his 5th fight. Just because he’s Tysons brother doesn’t mean he has to go in there & fight the best of the best straight away, he’s making his way up. Give him time!
Marsellos Wilder vs Tommy Fury would be a good fight but at least wilder brother fought people with few losses and tried to step up after 3 fights and loss i think it be good plus they will fight hard!! because they both have something to prove for their family!!!! MAKE IT HAPPEN THEY WHERE CALLING EACHOTHER OUT TOO BOXINB COMMUNITY CAN WE GET IN THESE GUYS SOCIAL MEDIAS AND GET THEM TO FIGHT!!!
Evryone going on about cherry picking for Tommy Fury and saying about the guys record, anyone who bows anything about boxing can see he needs this , smothering his opponent , getting to close to unload his own punches , he needs another 3 of these befor he try’s fighting someone with more wins then losses !
I respect Tommy as he is a decent person and I have come across him in person a few times but he keeps on fighting BUMS with barely any wins on their records - he is going to struggle if he fights tougher opponents at this rate
I know that it's early on in Fury's career so it's likely his first few fights will be against bums, but come on, 0 wins and 9 losses? Try getting him an opponent that might actually go the distance
This Williams fella isn't an opponent, he's a cherry picked punch-bag with arms and legs! Credit were its due mind, most would call it a day after 0-9! or 0-10 now!
There's a lot to like about Tommy, regardless of the comments here. I'm very interested in seeing how his defence works, we know he's good coming forward. I'm also interested in how he will deal with counter punches. He's a great lad and I wish him the best.
