The thing is, George Foreman was as much as what Tyson was in his prime, if not better (which can easily be argued in his favor). Both were the hardest hitters in all of Boxing history. But Foreman had the height advantage, for he was built like a tank, and he faced some supreme legendary opponents. Mike also faced some really tough heavyweights, but come on, Foreman fought in the toughest era, the golden age of boxing. Nevertheless, both Foreman and Tyson were two strongly built dudes, who were also technically sublime to watch.

Foreman had a far better chin than tyson too. Thats why I think prime vs prime foreman beats tyson. Tyson will land punches on foreman no doubt, but foreman will take them. Foreman lands on tyson, tyson hits the deck and doesn't get up. Tyson has never got off the canvas to win a fight

@Henry Lafontaine 5 KO losses says otherwise. Plenty of fighters went the distance with tyson, and he never once beat an elite fighter. Its easy to sleep fighters when they are bums, or 40 year olds that have been retired for 2 years. It's a different story against the elite. And against the elite, tyson lost every time

@Alan Robinson He never had to fight off the mat for it mattered nothing how good a man's chin was with Tyson. If he hit your chin you went to sleep period. It also would not matter how Foreman chin is for he as well would of been done! The only way to win on the other end of Mike is to not get the livershot or a uppercut to connect.

I doubt it. Foreman had one of the best chins in the business. Tyson didn't. They'd both land big bombs, but once tyson hit the canvas he ain't getting up again. Tyson never climbed off the canvas to win a fight, showing a complete lack of heart

Lets keep it real, Iron Mike Tyson was no DOUBT The best and BADEST Boxer on the PLANET. Iam 65 years old i have seen a lot of good fighters Ali Joe Frazer George Forman and many more. I have fight knowledge because i use to be a Karate man my self. Yes i have seen a lot of great fighters in my life, BUT no one was on Mike Tyson level, NO BODY. Mike Tyson has Thunder in his fist, and when he steped into the ring, he took care of buisness. No one had the Power that this man had, and he was FAST. Mike Tyson in my life time was the Greatest Boxer that i have ever seen, he was a Fighting machine for sure. THE BEST OF THE BEST.

@The Information Bomber so who where these fearsome fighters tyson was fighting then? Carl Williams? Tony tucker? Donnie Long? Alex Stewart? Foreman might have been fighting bums, but so was tyson. Meanwhile in between knocking out Douglas to win the title Tyson lost to him and beating tyson, holyfield fought foreman, bowe 3 times, Ray mercer and Michael Moorer, again far better opponents than tyson fought so it appears your comment is BS not mine. Tyson lost to every elite fighter he faced. The only 1 he ever beat was a 40 year old Larry Holmes who had been retired for 2 years and took the fight for some easy cash

I think George is just being humble. In his comeback in the 90s he was dead set on fighting Mike Tyson and it almost happened. There’s a lot of rumors as to why it didn’t happen though. I’ve heard Don King pulled Mike out of that fight but I also heard it was because Mike got sent to prison before they had a chance to finalize the fight. Would have been a good fight. Both men had a style for fighting each other

Obviously Foreman was old when Tyson was in his prime, so of course he'd be worried about facing Tyson. But prime '70s Foreman would've eaten prime '80s Tyson for breakfast. Holyfield said old Foreman hit harder than Tyson, so just imagine how much harder a young prime Foreman hit.

"Height doesn't make you a good fighter" "size has got nothin to do with it" uhhhhhhhhhhh NO. Size isn't everything, obviously, but it matters a LOT. There's a reason we have weight classes! Just wait until we have a guy who's 300 lbs, who's athletic and fast, and who takes their training seriously, under a good trainer. You could put a guy like that into a world championship bout with their first match, and they'd probably win.

Tyson would have killed him. Tyson was the strongest heavyweight and wouldn’t have ever lost a fight don king ruined everything for Mike. Mike was the youngest heavyweight champion, if his mentor was around longer and was able to keep Mike on the straight and narrow I think his career would have had 0 losses. His biggest mistake was coming back after he lost love for the sport but a guys gotta do what he’s gotta do

Tyson is the most physically gifted heavyweight of all time. There has never been a more explosive fighter. a 1985-1988 Tyson would have destroyed anyone of the same age range from any era including Foreman. Unfortunately Foreman would have schooled him in his prime considering Tysons regression.
